Happy christmas eve everyone! I hope you're spending a really nice evening and whether if that's alone or with family I hope you feel good and content!
Last year I thought to myself, that I would write down all the books I read and give a little feedback to each one of them. It was mainly to see how many books I'd read and I just generally find it very interesting to see what I've been reading in the course of a year! (BTW I made the same thing with movies so I might do a cheeky review on them too because let's be real I'm obsessed with movies & TV Shows!!)
So I'll make a list with the books I read, a rating and with the ones I really loved, I'll give a more detailed review. So let's get crackin':
- After You - 7/10 - really nice sequel to Me before you, really loved the message but I'm not sure if a sequel was needed?? That's at least my opinion. Still heart warming!!
- The girl on the train 8/10 - so intense and interesting! Absolutely loved it + the writing of it. Didn't see the movie but I might do that in the near future!
-The versions of us 9/10 - oh boy I'm not able express my love for this in only words. It was such a lovely, comforting book. It's so clever, interesting and even though there is "not much happening" (like there are no major plot twists or anything like that) in the plot it just made me extremely happy reading such a nice book with an amazing message!!
- The circle 7/10 - Very interesting book. I have to say that this book gave me a whole other viewpoint of the developement of technology. It wasn't written in a "Technology is bad and we should all destroy every single smartphone"- kinda way. It's a book that made me think a lot and even changed my opinions in certain ways.
- The bones of you 8/10 - can't really remember that much but I know that I really enjoyed the style of writing + I couldn't stop putting my book down because I really wanted to know the ending! Good holiday read!
- The great gatsby 8/10 - So I have to say I wanted to read the great gatsby because I wanted to read some classics and I wanted to challenge myself a bit. I have to say that it wasn't very easy to read (considering that my first language isn't english) but I enjoyed the story, the characters and even though I probably didn't understand every single piece of it, I found it nice to read something that is a bit "older" and more of a classic.
- The cursed child 6/10 - Now I know it technically isn't a book but I'm just gonna put it down here. I thought the story was very lovely and even though a lot of people are unhappy with the book I thought it was just nice to relive the whole experience once more. It didn't feel like it was an actual part of harry potter. It felt more like a fan wrote this story and published it on wattpad. It was still nice and I'm honestly kinda mad that scorbus didn't happen!!
- All the bright places 6/10 - I'm sure if you read that book it'll remember you of The fault in our stars and it kinda is the same plot. It isn't exactly the same story but it has the same feeling to it and the idea is similar. It's a really lovely book and has an important message.
- The dog who dared to dream 6/10 - It's a story about a dog and it's all written from the viewpoint of the dog so you kinda have to love it, right?? I love the idea, it's very unique but it kinda lacks the connection to the characters in my opinion. I couldn't really connect with anyone ( I know it's a dog duh) but I felt like it lacked some empathy. It was a very short read so it didn't take me long to finish the book and I really enjoyed this little "excursion" in a dogs world!

That was it!
I'm excited to write down all the books I'll read next year and do another little review on them!!
I hope you'll have a save new year's eve and I'll see you then!
